Personal website and digital portfolio.
2026 (Adobe Illustrator)
I was in need of a place to host my portfolio digitally to apply for more creative jobs online. I had tried Behance, Notion, Carrd, and Cara but not a single one of them fit my needs and often had features that were useless to me. I decided I would just have to DIY it and make my own website.
I decided to keep the homepage fairly simple since I was new to web developement. However, I still wanted to add some of my own flair to keep the visuals interesting.
There are a few thumbnail sketches I made just for fun. On the left, I wanted to design something similar to a job posting on a utility pole. The design on the right has my website as a digital office.
Having experience with Adobe Illustrator helped immensely with creating these mockups. My first design on the left was designed to be very simple. "Easy and quick" was my mindset because of my lack of experience with creating websites. Thankfully, I later decided against this with the design on the right. The corkboard and sticky note design is inspired by my own room. I have sticky notes posted everywhere!
I fine tuned the corkboard and sticky note mockup to give the homepage better flow. The corkboard was scaled down to create a container for the the sticky notes, speech bubble, and my portrait. Behind the corkboard would be a blur container that spans from the top to bottom of the page. This would hold the mail and phone graphics. Lastly, I decided on a flowercore aesthetic inspired by the scenery in the Domo-kun animated shorts for the background.
